Chocolates A No For Black Russian Terriers

on Thu, 10/06/2011 - 09:45

As Black Russian Terriers are large dogs, the temptation of owners to give chocolate to their dogs is irresistible. Children especially may be overcome by the festivity and may give dogs chocolates when their parents are not in sight..

With the pending Halloween, Christmas and New Years, chocolates are everywhere

Chocolates SHOULD NOT be given to dogs, bottom line.

Chocolates contain a compound called theobromine and theophylline.

Theobromine belongs to the same family as caffeine.

We have received numerous inquires and questions as to Black Russian Terrier puppies wear colored ties around their necks.

Colored ties are placed around the puppies when they are delivered. It is a source of identification as to which puppy was born first, second, third and so on.

The ties are colored and each puppy is given a different color. If there is a large litter and the specific colored ties have finished, then double ties of different colors are used.

Feeding Your Black Russian Terrier

on Fri, 01/21/2011 - 12:07

Feeding a Black Russian Terrier is not as difficult as you may think.

Good breeders would not sell their puppies before eight weeks old. By this time the puppy is weaned from its mother and should begin to eat kibble. Your breeder should have given you a starter package of dog food so that the puppy will continue to eat the food that he/she is accustomed to. If you are thinking of changing the dog food, integrate small portions of the starter package with the new dog food until the puppy gets accustomed to the new dog food.
